Some 220 children from Servite RC Primary School, Fulham Road, formed a giant walking school bus on Wednesday 12 June when they took to the streets with their road safety message ‘Say yes to walking! Say no to driving fast!’
Led by Cllr Mrs Frances Taylor, chairman of the Royal Borough’s Public Transport and Road Safety Group, the children, accompanied by 38 staff, walked along Hollywood Road, Fawcett Street, Edith Grove and then back to school to raise awareness of the need to reduce speed limits to keep people safe. The children wore hi-vis jackets to help get the message across and ranged in age from 5 year-olds, in Reception class, to 11-year-olds, in Year Six.
