Local businesses in the Royal Borough provide generous contributions to British Red Cross, Chelsea, by sponsoring their Chelsea Royal Wedding event

Wednesday, 1st June 2011

The British Red Cross shop in Old Church Street, Chelsea, joined in celebrations early for the Royal Wedding by giving local shoppers, on April 18, an opportunity to purchase wedding items and other fashionable ensembles, to contribute towards vital Red Cross Charity contributions.

Many dresses were donated by local designers, 20 dresses coming from David Fielden alone, as well as other generous donations from: Butler and Wilson, Phillipa Lepley, Issa, Philip Treacy, Morgan-Davies, Chelsea Collections, Shuz, and a bridal bouquet from Only Roses. Wedding dresses from J.S Couture and other donations were showcased by catwalk models including designs from:  Chanel, Armani, Stella McCartney, Amanda Wakeley, Lanvin, Kenzo, Burberry, and many more.

The event was a great success with local residents queuing up in Old Church Street, prior to the event, to ensure entry to the occasion, which included a tea and cupcake party, and raised a grand sum of £9,500. Even Kate Middleton, our future Queen is reputed to shop there.

The flag ship Red Cross store features in many international guide books and because of the local event’s success the Red Cross are planning to run a monthly, ‘By Appointment’ Private Bridal Consultation service in the future. The first event will take place on Saturday 28th May. So please call the manager Cathy on the number below to book an appointment.
