With reports that London's attractions are quieter than usual this August why not take the opportunity to visit one of London's finest markets?
If you walk down Portobello Road on Sundays this summer you'll find more to see than usual, with around 40 street stalls selling everything from antiques and art to fashion, accessories, gifts and food, from a mix of new and existing traders.
The Summer Sundays street markets will take place on Sundays from 22 July through to 2 September 2012 (except 26 August when it's the carnival), in Portobello Road near the Westway and regular Sunday market at Portobello Green.
Plus, on Thursdays from 2 August through to 6 September there'll be all-day trading on the street market, rather than the usual half days.
Apart from this, it's business as usual during the Olympics, whichever day you decide to visit.
Cllr Nick Paget-Brown, Deputy Leader of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea said: "While the Olympics are providing great entertainment it's certainly worth tearing yourself away from the action for a few hours to visit both Portobello and Golborne Road markets.
"With reports that central London's shops and attractions are quieter than usual this could be just the time for someone who dislikes battling against the crowds to take a walk along the splendid Portobello Road."
